Walkstyles was my first really obsessive series of drawings. I totaly loved the flow of watercolour combined with the flow of movement of the characters. I was inspired by street people that I have met or saw through the years; and how each of these characters relate to themselves with a sum of visual elements. Maybe in 5 years I'll probably make a second phase of Walkstyles, with different clothes, grins and attitudes.
Walkstyles was exhibited in the 2008 show STEREO and I liked this part of the curatorial text, which, roughly translated, goes like this:
"These characters, represent a certain generation, I-Pod generation perhaps, they enjoy their bodies, their leisure time, their cities. They flow and stroll on the urban landscape within de-dramatized tracks and pathways, heading to a sort of liquid inhabitance, consumingly, in a weird light Budhism"
